With her extendable boxsprit, the assymetrical spinnaker and the wide deck, the J109 is suitable for spectacular racing with a full racing team, as well as cruising with a two-man-crew. The almost 11 meters ship allows enough space for 7 sailors. Six people can sleep comfortably overnight.

In 2002 the Dutch monthly sailing magazine Zeilen, claimed the J-109 to be the ‘Boat of the Year’. The conclusions were: “Between all the medicore boats we come upon, the J-109 is an exception. On a series boat one rarely sees such sail characteristics, the trim possibilities, the quality and the thought-through placing of the fittings, and the strong, yet light construction. This boat offers the active sailor everything necessary for sailing pleasure.
